Slot Emblems by type—and read Unique as an equip limit
Emblems unlock at Lv40, but their stats only activate in the matching slot on the pet that is actually deployed.

What you need to know
New Emblem slots open at Lv50, 60, 70 and 80 after the system unlocks at Lv40.
Emblems belong to three categories and can only be placed in their designated slot type.
Only one copy of an Emblem marked Unique can be slotted. Other Emblems can have up to two copies slotted simultaneously.
Make the change with a plan
Plan the final Lv80 slot layout before spending selector boxes or upgrade copies, and count only the Emblems on the deployed pet.
Don’t burn resources by accident
Unique describes the simultaneous slot limit. Do not treat it as proof that only one copy may exist in the inventory.
