Inscriptions: build one reliable combat window

The Core shapes the main effect. Support inscriptions should keep helping for the activity you are actually running—not only during a short opening burst.

Start with the activity

Two presets, two different jobs

Compare Rishi's captured Abyss lineup with the guide-derived Secret Realm starting plan. Both use values shown on his captured copies; load either one into the simulator, then change one slot at a time.

CURRENT ABYSSHold position · steady value

Winterless, Life and Speed keep giving value while Rapid and the other opener reductions bring Vengeance forward. Use it as a test starting point for a boss you can stay on.

Rapid and Quick list 50% and 30% reductions. The simulator models their 80% total additively; Daybreak and Lone Lamp add variable proc windows between packs.

What this combination does

Vengeance Domain

+79.92% damage for 20s; then −8.64% for 60s.

Winterless Art

+2.7% permanent damage with no shown opening penalty.

Rapid Field

+1.92% permanent damage; Core initial cooldown is reduced by 50%.

Life Device

+2.33% permanent damage; all initial cooldowns are reduced by 10%.

Speed Field

+2.33% permanent damage; every inscription starts 5s sooner.

This is the arithmetic sum of the listed always-on bonuses, not a final damage prediction. Timed and proc percentages stay separate because their durations, cooldowns and trigger chances differ. Verify the lineup with matched Training Ground runs.

Complete star progression

The full path has 15 bonus steps—not five

The earlier guide only showed the five Gold upgrades. The video confirms ten earlier steps—five Blue and five Purple—and the same stat order on Core and Support inscriptions.

01Levels follow the slot

An inscription placed in the same slot can inherit that slot's inscription level.

02Stars follow the name

A higher-quality copy can inherit the star level of a lower-quality inscription with the same name.

03Duplicates become shards

Repeated copies of the same inscription convert into the shards used for its star progression.

Where to start

Invest in the shared pieces first

  1. 1

Vengeance Domain + Rapid Field appear in both the Abyss setup and Secret starting plan, so upgrades support either lineup.

  2. 2

For Abyss, continue with Winterless, Life and Speed. For Secret, continue with Daybreak, Lone Lamp and Quick.

  3. 3

For damage progression, Purple 1 and 3 add Attack; Gold 1, 3 and 5 add Attack. The alternating Purple and Gold steps add HP, while both colour tracks have a Penetration step.

Before calling one best

Use one repeatable fight

  1. 1

Keep the boss and duration the same. A different fight cannot prove the inscription caused the change.

  2. 2

Change one slot. Keep skills, Pets, gear and Artifact nodes fixed.

  3. 3

Read the damage breakdown. Compare the median of repeated runs—not only the biggest hit.
